We also read of a king Conaire Mor 33B.C.(5160), king Crimhthann Mor, king Ugaine Mor 633B.C. or 500B.C., historian Gilla Isa Mor 1419A.D.. O'Curry quotes another Irish historian who says the transition to surnames began about 1000A.D by law of Brian Boru.
