The Population of IrelandIn March 2012, a government leader from The Republic of Ireland stated that there are approximately 71 million people living today who are termed the "Irish Diaspora"... If we take that to mean people born in Ireland, who have left the country for other shores, I think that is wrongly interpreted. What I beleive they probably meant was, that there may be as many as 71 million people alive today, who do not reside on the 'Emerald Isle', and may have never resided there, who have Ireland Ancestors. That being the case, let us suppose that we could trace each and every one of those 71 million to their first emigrant of departure. What would be the percentage and what would be the time table? Lets say an average of 3 per a family. If we had a bell curve of probability... meanwhile, this could be an estimate of how those figures might be broken down.
