By village we represent any size community from as little as a village of several homes, to a small town, or a large city. Therefore, while several villages might be included inside a Townland, a City may have grown to cover many former Townlands.
Nevertheless, the fact that you have the name of what appears to corespond to a specific population center, puts you in a stronger position to find your Ireland Ancestors, especially if it is a small village.
