We are the Children of IrelandYou have been told your people were from Ireland. Your family carries the traditions of Ireland. You have a Surname from Ireland. You saw in a census that a relative was from Ireland. You see that their ship was from Ireland. Your community was from Ireland. But where in Ireland? Does it matter? Well, certainly it is significant if your goal is to build a pedegree. To dig some personal roots. To trace a medical condition. Or to find a patch of once-land. However, even if you are unable, unsupported, or perhaps unwilling to continue the chase; it would be sad to miss out on the history, heritage, culture and association, simply because you have YET to uncover one or more clues which might pin-the-tail on the map. Yes, we are Orphans. But we are not alone. In fact, we have the distinction of knowing more about Ireland than many a one-placer. We find ourselves with broader interests, both geographically and politically. We can relish in our non-factional non-sectarianism -- at least until we find a Sport Team to cheer for. As Children of Ireland, we have One Heritage, One Island. One HomeLand. We have Ireland Ancestors.
