Partholan

Keating's sources introduce Partholan 300 years after the flood (A.M. 1956) from "Migdonia", or "middle Greece".

According to the antiquarian Mac Firbis 1650, he references an ancient Ireland where one Partholan was the first to arrive after the Deluge. In rebuttal to those who consider anything before the Milesian era,as legendary, folklore, or pre-history myth, he states:

"They will acknowledge their own falsehood in this matter, if they will but see the number of alien races which are given in this book alone, which are not carried up to the sons of Milesius, as may be seen in several places in the body of the book, and let them compare them with one another." "And, further, it is an argument against the people who say that there is no family in this country which the genealogists do not trace up to the sons of Milesius".

According to the Annals of the Four Masters, Parthalon arrived 278 years after the flood, in "the year of the world 2520". The Annals then go on to say that 9000 Partholans died in one week at "the age of the world 2820" and the land laid waste for 30 years until the arrival of Neimhidh and his people. Were the Partholans totally decimated? By what?

The Book of Invasions say that there was at least one survivor, Tuan son of Cairell son of Muiredach Muinderg, who lived until the time of Columcille... to tell the tale.

What other sources cited this archaic era and chronology of the Partholans and Ireland? (Who are their Forebearers?? #)
